Summary
Asia plays a pivotal role in the global energy transition, facing the dual challenge of decarbonisation and sustaining economic growth. Transition finance, blended finance, and digital technologies have emerged as critical tools to scale investments, manage risks, and enable just transitions across the region.
Key strategies, such as the development of local capital markets, targeted subsidies, and transparent carbon metrics, can drive demand for greener products and accelerate progress. Blended finance, in particular, has proven effective in mitigating risks and mobilising private capital for early-stage projects. Case studies and research from India and Southeast Asia illustrate how policy alignment and innovative financing models can significantly advance decarbonisation efforts.
At the same time, the role of AI and digital technologies is expanding, offering transformative potential to enhance financial decision-making, improve transparency, and address challenges such as data privacy and energy consumption.
The conference concluded with a strong call for strategic collaboration among governments, investors, and businesses to dismantle barriers, scale sustainable investments, and achieve net-zero goals.
